Traditional waxing can cause skin irritation, redness, ingrown hair, and may not fully remove all hair. This method can be more painful as wax adheres to live skin cells and can result in torn skin. In contrast, sugaring utilizes natural and organic materials that do not cause skin issues, skin tears, or discomfort. Sugaring provides longer-lasting results, reduces hair coarseness, and slows overall hair growth.
-
For optimal results, we recommend that you refrain from shaving for 10-14 days prior to your appointment. If you have sensitive skin, we suggest using numbing cream or taking ibuprofen before your appointment.
-
We're not sugar coating anything (pun intended ;) - hair removal can be uncomfortable, but sugaring is much gentler than waxing. Since sugar only sticks to dead skin cells and hair, the sensation is often described as a quick sting, similar to removing a band-aid. Unlike waxing, the pain quickly subsides and there's no lingering discomfort.
-
For best results, we recommend having at least 10 days of hair growth before your appointment. If your hair growth is slower, we recommend having at least 1/4 inch of hair. Please avoid trimming your hair beforehand, as we will take care of that for you during your appointment.
-
On average, clients can enjoy being hair-free for 1-2 weeks after their sugaring session before hair growth resumes.
-
The recommended time between appointments is typically 3-5 weeks, as hair growth and the hair growth cycle vary by individual.
-
To achieve your desired results, avoid using razors! Shaving makes hair follicles thicker and coarser, while sugaring has the opposite effect. Shaving in between appointments will not only lead to less optimal results, but also increase discomfort during sugaring due to the texture of the hair.
-
Ingrown hairs can be pesky and frustrating, but there are ways to reduce them. Exfoliation is key, and we recommend exfoliating the area every other day, starting three days after your sugaring appointment. Following this routine can significantly reduce or even avoid ingrown hairs altogether, helping you maintain clear and smooth skin.
